The Clear The Air Ad Fund was established by Clarington citizens opposed to the Durham incinerator due to health and financial concerns. Donations went to buy ads in the Orono Weekly Times and Clarington This Week to "Clear the Air" about the voting record on the incinerator.
The first objective, to buy a full page ad in the Orono Weekly Times special election edition Wed Oct 13 was reached thanks to the generous donations of citizens and concerned physicians. Our second objective, to buy a full page ad in Clarington This Week during the week of October 18 has now also been achieved (watch for the ad in the Wednesday, October 20 edition).
THANK YOU!
Thank you to all the concerned citizens and physicians
who donated so quickly and generously to our campaign.
The ad rates for full page are $921 for the Orono Weekly Times and $2,658 for Clarington This Week, including HST. You have helped to get the facts out about the voting record for the incinerator project during this election campaign. With online micro-donations using tools such as PayPal, great things have been accomplished by grassroots political campaigns. In our case, it added up fast!
The Clear The Air Ad Fund collected enough donations to place a full-page ad in the
Orono Weekly Times on Wed Oct 13 to "Clear the air" about the voting record on the incinerator.
Generous donations from citizens have also given us enough to cover our next target,
a full page ad in Clarington This Week for Wednesday, October 20.
The ad can be found on Page 10.
After the election campaign, any surplus funds will be donated to the
Bowmanville Salvation Army food bank and the Newcastle Clarington East food bank.
Remember:
IT'S NOT A DONE DEAL!
